As the distance between them grew, Atari stared at Engel longingly while listening to his words. The man asked how he was, and he replied calmly, "I think I'm alright now." Looking around, he made certain that the room was not spiraling anymore. The few remnants of the symptoms slowly faded away. Before he could pick up his phone to check the missed call, Engel spoke up again. This time, he replied to Atari's offer to assist the U.R. and prevent anymore unfortunate situations from occurring. This elevated the younger man's mood drastically, and the aura around him turned soft with little stars. On the outside, he only smiled and turned his head away shyly, knowing that he would be able to spend more time with Engel (even if it is just for work). He held back on wanting to tackle the man down in a loving embrace. "I-I see. I'm... I'm glad we can work together again," he said, mumbling a bit. This brought his attention back to the assignment for tomorrow. Quickly turning his gaze back to Engel, he asked in a serious manner, "Can you go with me somewhere tomorrow? I have something important to do. It's nothing dangerous, so I think it's fine if you bring Sena too." 'I definitely don't want to go on a date with that girl,' he thought as he invited his old companion to the mission. His phone call would have to wait as the young man waited for a response.

Engel shook his head at Atari’s suggestion, “I’ll go with you, but I’m not bringing Sena. The last thing she needs is to be recognized by anyone.” Speaking of the devil she had been peaking at them both with the door open just a smidge. She had been eavesdropping and said, “I don’t want to leave! If they find me they will do horrible things, and call me a heretic!” She shut the door and locked it again. Frowning at his door he mumbled, “Maybe I should just make up the guest bedroom for her.” He was beginning to realize he had not planned much out for this.

Atari shrugged, having believed that it would be best to keep an eye on her. Since Sena was in Engel's care, he ignored his own concerns and went with the man's decision on the matter. Another thing came to mind as the sun began to set. Atari spoke up, offering to cook dinner for the three of them. He waited for Engel's reply, taking out his phone to see the missed call from his brother. 'Must be wondering where I am,' thought the young man, opening his phone to send his brother a text. No later did he send the message did his brother reply to him, asking what he would like for dinner. 'Sorry, but I won't be eating at home tonight either,' he thought, texting Matsu back and placing his phone in his waist bag. He looked up, stating, "I can cook anything. Just name it and I'll get some groceries to make dinner."

Engel gave Atari a smile at the offer for food and said, "I'll leave the choice up to you, but I wouldn't do anything to crazy it doesn't look like Sena has been in Japan for very long." Engel got up off the floor offering a hand for Atari to stand up and said, "I need to get my Gigai from the lab so let me make a quick call, he is probably getting bored sitting around the lab, for oh almost a day now?" He tried to count the hours in his head. Walking over to his desk in his office he grabbed a little headset and spoke into it telling the Gigai to come home so he could have his physical body back. After the call he looked over at Atari and asked, "do you need any money for the food?" He frowned as he patted his shinigami robe remembering his wallet is on his gigai.

The young man nodded to everything said and replied, saying, "I can make a Western style dinner for you guys. I remember that you don't prefer eating traditional Japanese food anyway." He smirked at the man, recalling all the times they ate together or made meals together in the past. He was about to leave when Engel asked if he needed any money for the food. The young man shook his head and said, "I've got it." With that, he left for the grocery store a few blocks down the way.
He returned shortly with three bags of groceries. After knocking on the door, Sena reluctantly opened it to let her ex-target into the home. Walking by her without any malicious thoughts, he thanked her and went to place the groceries on the kitchen counter. There were two bottles of juice, eggs, vegetables, several packs of meat, and fruit. Most of them went into the fridge, while the fruits were left on the kitchen counter. Surprisingly, the fridge was not that empty, even though Engel had not been back for long. 'A little more food won't hurt...' he thought, reorganizing the contents of the fridge.
Once that was done, he found an apron and put it on to start the preparations. The first thing to do was marinated the ground beef to make them into hamburger patties later on. After that, he cleaned some lettuce, onions, and tomatoes before cutting them up. Atari finished all the food prep and washed his hands, looking at the clock to see what time it was. 'I'll start cooking in an hour. That'll let the meat marinate.' He cleaned up the rest of the dishes and went to the living room to see what everyone was up to.

Engel watched Atari wondering if he should volunteer to help, but his Gigai had returned shortly after Atari had started prepping. Hopping inside it he scrunched his nose quickly grabbing a change of clothes and rushing to the bathroom. He ran a hot shower getting clean in record time, and came out with his hair still slightly damp, because his towel was still a bit damp after Sena had used it. He grumbled a bit thinking he needed more than a couple towels in there. Atari had finished prepping by then, so he asked, "hey do you want to help me move all these clothes into the guest bedroom?" He picked up one bag with a grunt not expecting them to be so heavy to go place it in the guest room thinking Sena could sort through it later. After Atari dropped his bag next to the other he said, "I'm going to have to thank Elizabeth better, she must of covered every occasion with this." Sena was preoccupied reading her bible that Engel had lent her again.

At the mention of Elizabeth's name, a bit of regret grew in the pit of his stomach, causing him to look away. It was irritating enough how Elizabeth had to get involved in such a mess. Since he did not want to be reminded of what happened just a few hours ago, he left the preparations of the guest room to Engel and went to grab a few extra things for Sena's stay. "I'll grab some extra towels for the bathroom," he quickly stated before exiting the room. Just one door down, Atari entered Engel's bedroom, headed for the closet, and grabbed a couple of towels out. He continued on, going towards the bathroom and placing the towels on the racks. Before leaving, the young man brought out a cup and toothbrush for the girl from one of the drawers.
Once everything seemed to be prepared, he decided to head to the kitchen and start dinner earlier than planned. He remained quiet and lost in thought as he cooked. When he finished, he placed the plates down on the medium sized dining table and called out to everyone, "Food's ready!" Taking off his apron, he opened the fridge and asked out, "What are you guys going to drink?" For himself, he poured a glass of milk. He stood there waiting for the others to reply. While doing so, he thought, 'I should prepare something extra for Sena tomorrow since Engel won't be bringing her.' The thought caused him to furrow his brows slightly. "You two trust others too easily..." he muttered under his breath, thinking of Engel and Elizabeth. His expression only softened when he thought of how the U.R. had changed him too. 'Maybe I'm... a little that way too.'
OOC: Suggestions for later? Starting dinner? How about we talk about what Sena will need or do when Engel is out? You can still have a conversation about tomorrow's visit and make it vague so Sena won't know the details. If you want to be a jerk, you can bring up Elizabeth too. Good luck. I'll start a thread in the circus board later tonight, even though we may not be finished with this thread. (Just a small time lapse will be fine.)

Sena’s face lit up at the spread of food in front of her. She thanked Atari loudly and uttered a quick prayer before beginning to scarf down the food. Engel sipped at his milk Atari had given out to everyone after they told him their requests. A little shocked Engel asked between bites, “Did they not feed you at the church?” Looking up from her food and taking big gulp Sena replied, “The lowest of us only get small meals, to get better meals you have to bring more of the silver rings to the fathers at the church.” Engel let show a disgusted face, not having expected the church would do such things. He forced a smile and said to her, “Well here you can eat as much as you like.” Sena happily went back to eating her dinner savoring every bite. As the meal went on Engel turned to Atari and said, “What’s the plan for tomorrow, I’ll have someone here to watch over little Sena. I don’t think she should go out into public anymore from the sounds of things the church won’t wanting her spread what secrets she knows around.” Sena finished her meal and feeling a little uncomfortable about where the conversations was going thanked Atari again for the food, and placed her dishes in the sink running back to the living room to continue reading her book. Engel watched as she walked out of the dining room thinking silently to himself, ‘I hope I’ve done the right thing…’ A soft shadow in his head replying back to him in a whisper, “you never do…” Engel shook his head clear of the thoughts trying to set his mind on what they were doing tomorrow. After Atari shared the plan for tomorrow, Engel saw that the time was getting late so asked, “did you want to stay over? I can make up the couch for you, or…” He left the option open if Atari had another suggestion.

Atari nodded to show that he had heard Sena's thanks and started on his food. He listened as Engel and Sena talked about the meal (amongst other things). When the young girl mentioned the church, Atari focused his attention on the little information provided. 'So that's what the church has been up to... it might be a good idea to let the leader know,' he thought, keeping his composure as he ate. While they continued their conversation, Atari calculated if it would be best to notify the U.R. about this. Eventually, he decided to keep it to himself. 'It'd probably be better to wait until I get more information.'
His attention moved to Engel when the man asked him for tomorrow's plans. Since it was a simple recon mission, he spoke without worrying about being overheard. "We'll be heading to the circus that just came into town. We'll just be looking around and making sure that they're not a threat to anyone," he said, finishing his food. He got up to place his dish in the sink and returned to the table afterwards to answer the man's last question. "I'd stay, but I have to go back home or Matsu will come here to find me. I think Sena had enough for today. So I'll meet you tomorrow. Meet at the clock tower near the old district. If anything, just give me a call," said the young man, drinking his second glass of milk. He glanced over at the little girl and observed her. 'Whatever the church is doing... involving people as young as her won't be good.'
It was a while later when Atari would finally leave. The room was prepared, the dishes were cleaned, and the meeting was set. Atari stood by the door with Engel, who showed him out. His scarlet eyes looked towards Sena, who reluctantly and shyly waved farewell to the young man. "See you tomorrow, Engel," he said, adding, "And stay out of trouble, Sena." He headed down to the main street and decided to take a taxi back home.
OOC: Feel free to finish off the night too. I'll work on that other post... yes... other post.

After Atari left Engel started winding down for bed, ushering and tucking Sena in he turned the light out behind him. The day’s events seemed almost a blur to him at this point, but he needed to make a few phone calls before he could go to bed. The first call to Elizabeth wasn’t answered so he left a message thanking her for the clothes. He would have to work on making things right with her, as he added it to his mental checklist he started dialing the next number. The call wasn’t too long, as he had arranged for one of his fellow shinigami to watch over Sena the next day. Engel fell asleep easily enough not dwelling too much on what could happen tomorrow.
