The Tuesday night before the date, Atari accepted Engel's offer to grab a drink on Friday. Although the young male had plans to go shopping with Elizabeth and knew to decline the offer, he still said yes. The only way to get out of this now would be to manage the time perfectly. 'That's right...' he thought, as he lay on his bed, staring up at his phone. If he planned the timing for each date, there should be no conflict. With that in mind, he texted Engel that he would meet him at the Blue Crescent Bar at 6 PM on Friday. Before shutting off his phone, he sent another text to Elizabeth that they could go to the shopping district at 9 AM. 'That should be enough time for her to look around and be satisfied.' The boy turned off his phone and went to sleep.
The two days after went by quickly. On Wednesday, Engel started lecturing just like the other two professors that followed. All of them asked their students to purchase the required books for the next week of class. The day ended as any other without problems. On Thursday, Atari entered the dreaded class with Elizabeth, who also noticed that the student count had diminished. The young male only sighed as he took out his notebook and prepared for the lecture (after being lectured by Elizabeth the other day to take his own notes). After that, there was only one class left to go to. Atari had actually looked forward to this one, seeing as their lovely, female professor was one of the rebels. After about two hours, the class was dismissed and everyone dispersed. The weekend had finally come for the Elizabeth and Atari (and Engel). He had to mentally prepare himself and go over the plan again before D-Day.
On this beautiful sunny Friday, Atari had woken up exceptionally early. Even Matsu, his older brother, and Ryoshi were still asleep in the room next door by the time Atari was out the door. He had to get a move on if he wanted to prevent his certain death (most likely would be caused by Elizabeth). It did not take him long to reach the girl's apartment. They decided to meet at her place since it was closer to the shopping district than the boy's house. He called her and stared up at the balcony. In a few seconds, Elizabeth picked up and went to the balcony to greet him. He only waved back, and they hung up. 'Knowing her, it'll take a while,' he thought, leaning against a brick wall divider. When she finally came down (after a small commotion), he asked, "Where do you want to go first?"

Elizabeth hung up her phone walking back inside from the balcony stretching with a big yawn. She hadn’t expected Atari would want to start the day so early. Undressing she found her way to the shower and quickly got ready for the day finally feeling a little nervous about what was essentially a date between them. Wanting to be comfortable that day for a lot of walking around she decided to wear a black shirt with some dark blue jeans, she thought this would surprise Atari seeing as he mostly ever saw her in dresses. She checked on the skeleton patting it on the head as she walked out the door locking it behind her, happy at least he was just reading.
As she approached him the time closer to 10am he heard her ask where she wanted to go. She held back the urge to scold him for showing up so early, but thought better of it thinking she would just have him take her somewhere for breakfast seeing as she missed it getting ready. “Let’s find somewhere to have a nice brunch to start the day.” She smiled and walked alongside Atari wondering where he would choose to take them.

Looking up from his phone, he saw Elizabeth in jeans instead of a dress or skirt. It was rather refreshing, seeing as the fabric wrapped tightly around her long legs and complimented her figure. 'There's definitely something more appealing when things aren't exposed...' thought Atari, who adverted his eyes after staring for a while. As they walked towards the shopping district, Elizabeth mentioned grabbing some food, which got the young male thinking. "There's a crepe shop not too far from here. They sell breakfast, lunch, and desserts," he stated, leading her down another street and into the subway. The area was not too packed since it was technically still a weekday for high school students and white collar workers.
Once they reached the small restaurant, they were lead to a small table by the window. Although they were underground, it was well-lit with a good amount of people passing by the little shops. The waiter smiled at them and gave them menus, asking them if they wanted anything to drink. "Milk for me," said Atari, wanting to satisfy his craving. He already had his order in mind, but he waited for Elizabeth to decide on her drink and food first.

Elizabeth took the menu happily looking through it and asking very nicely, “I’ll have orange juice please.” Reading each item carefully, she pointed out what she wanted once the waiter came back with their drinks. She made small talk while they waited for their meal, asking, “So? Why did you come over so early? I figured you would have waited until at least noon.” She took small sips from her juice, waiting for him to answer. She was curious because she had always known him to prefer to sleep in.

They talked about miscellaneous things for a while until Elizabeth asked him why he came over so early in the day. With a calm expression, he thought of how to answer her. "Something came up for this evening, so I thought we should have an early start," he said, not adding anymore. He took a few gulps of his milk. It did not take too long for the food to come out, and the two of them thanked their server. They ate, continued talking about random things, and soon enough, paid for their food and left.
As they stood at the entrance, Atari asked her what shop she wanted to visit first. "It might also be a good idea to buy some books for class later," he suggested.

She nodded her agreement in needing books and said, "yeah, but I don't want to carry books around all day, so let's save that for later. For now lets just go find something fun to do." She took his hand dragging him around the shopping district looking into shop windows. As they went past shops she would point out stuff she thought was neat, or funny, and press on. Coming to a stop in front of one shop she asked, "did you still want to get me that outfit?" She said it while standing between several stores so he wouldn't catch on to which she wanted to go into.

Elizabeth replied, saying that she did not want to carry the books around all day. It was a valid response, and he nodded without saying anything. There was still time to grab the books even during the weekend if they wanted to just spend the day hanging out. With that decided, the two of them walked off without a specific place in mind (at least for Atari). He did not particularly care that they were mindlessly walking around since he was the one who accepted Elizabeth's proposal to hang out on Friday.
After they looked around the smaller shops in the subway station, they exited and walked around the open streets. They spent a good few hours visiting several shops. Sometimes the girl would point at some things with a cheerful expression on her face, and Atari would look curiously at the object. He smiled, enjoying the time spent.
When they reached a certain point on their trip, Elizabeth stopped and turned towards the young man. Atari looked at her with a confused expression and waited for her to say something. "Did you still want to get me that outfit?" she asked him. It was an odd thing to say considering that he had promised the girl earlier in the week. Without putting much thought as to why the rhetorical question, he nodded. "Yeah. I said I'd buy you the outfit," replied Atari, putting a hand to his waist as if to question her motives.

She smiled and said, "Awesome! You can help me pick it out!" Overly-excited, she looked between and around a few shops and found the one she was looking for. She walked in with Atari following her and started browsing around. As she zipped through the store, she lost track of Atari, being overwhelmed by all the selections of things the store had to offer. After what seemed like an eternity, she found three outfits to choose from. She wandered around to the changing rooms and placed the options in there for safekeeping before finding Atari so she could start to model.
"There you are!" she said while walking up to him. "I found what I liked. So, could I get your opinion on them?" She waited for him to agree before happily getting in the changing room. She spent a few minutes arranging the three, deciding to save the best for last.
Her first pick was an off white piece with the top having a bow in the center of it. She was not sure if she liked the top without the straps, but she thought it was really cute. The bottom of the bikini was rather plain, but she loved the short skirt with it and the bow on the side that looked like the wings of a pale butterfly. She felt it really showed well against her black hair. With a smile she stepped out and did a spin for Atari, letting him give his opinion, and then quickly rushing back into the changing room.
Her next outfit was a bit more revealing. She put it on by fastening the front, making sure to tie it carefully so that the leftover cloth hung just right. It was black with white highlights on the ends of the cloth. The bottom matched well with ties on either side, which she spent plenty of time making sure they matched in length since she was a bit of a perfectionist in regards to it. Again, she did her catwalk for Atari, taking his feedback before showing off the final bikini.
The last one was black, matching her hair, with golden strings that held it together. The shoulder straps going around her bust wasn't as uncomfortable as she would have imagined. She blushed a little, looking at the bottom. It was a lot more revealing than she had first anticipated as she looked in the mirror. Biting her lip, she took a calming breath and walked out to do a turn for Atari to let him get a good look. She tried to fight back a blush on this last one. Nervously, she awaited eagerly for his opinion as to which one he would choose.

As they came around to a trendy clothing store, the girl pulled him in and left his side at an extremely quick pace. He shrugged it off and headed towards the men's section to browse while the girl picked out her outfit. 'I wonder where she went...' As if Elizabeth had read his mind, she suddenly appeared out of no where and pulled him off towards the changing room after he agreed to help her. With a large gulp, he knew the moment had come. She gave him a cute before disappearing behind the large curtain.
Unconsciously, Atari was feeling a bit nervous about the situation, which could be seen by him fiddling with his fingers. He sat there, having a few girls shooting him a glance. The guys only ignored him until Elizabeth stepped out of the changing room to model for him a strapless bikini and flowing skirt. As she spun around, the ribbon on the side twirled around her form. She asked him for his opinion, and he gulped again. "U-Uh... it... it looks... good on you..." he managed to say with added pauses. The customers around them stared at the two, all of them jealous at the opposite gender of theirs.
Elizabeth quickly went back in after he said that and changed into another. At that moment, Atari realized that she had wanted his opinion on swimsuits. 'I... I can't believe I'm doing this," he thought, placing a hand over his heated and red face. There was not much time before Elizabeth came out to show off a second bikini piece, which was much more revealing than the last one. This caused Atari's eyes to widened dramatically. He almost let his mouth hang open, but luckily, he already had his hand by his face. This time around, more men had appeared to see the little catwalk. It would have infuriated Atari had he not been mesmerized by this choice of hers. He stuttered, "T-This looks good on you too... c-c-compliments your body really w-well..." She seemed content with his comment and went back to the room to change again.
He breathed out a sigh. The nerve-wracking feeling he had only gained a temporary relief. After a while, Elizabeth came out with an even more revealing outfit than the last two. Just by seeing Elizabeth in such an outfit caused Atari's face to turn a full, deep crimson red. He quickly stood up and ushered her back in, closing the curtains behind her. With a quick glare, the crowd dispersed, and he turned back his gaze back to the curtain. Standing close to the fabric that separated him from his friend, he muttered in a quiet tone, "T-That one's no good." In his mind, it would have been perfect, but it would also gain unnecessary attention. He continued to talk to her in a soft tone, saying, "I think... the second one really makes you look mature. I would go with that one." After he said that, he left to wander the store a bit to cool off.

Elizabeth was a bit surprised when he ushered her back into the changing room so quickly. A part of her mind doing a fist pump knowing she had got him to react to her. Before changing back she looked at herself in the mirror and blushed a little thinking to herself, 'Yeah... This one is a bit much." She changed pretty quickly Taking with her the second one she had tried on. Stepping out she stood on her tiptoes trying to catch a glimpse to where Atari had run off to.
Before she saw him she was approached by a few older men who had apparently been watching her little show for Atari. They had with them a few outfits, and not the most well intention looks about them. Getting pushy after she declined to model them one man grabbed her by the upper arm to stop her from walking off. He had said to her in a dark way, "What's wrong? We not good enough for you or something?" She tried pulling her arm away growing angry not wanting to make a big scene about it, but the man held on.
Growling under her breath she said to him, "you should really let go of me." The day had been going so perfect it figured some old perverts had to ruin her day. The man had a evil glint in his eye as he flashed a knife and said, "Perhaps its better if you don't struggle." She stood there a bit shocked, trying to figure out if she could activate her soul absorption, before the man could do anything.

In a flash, someone had grabbed the man that held the knife to Elizabeth and put him to the ground their arm in a lock behind their back.
Although usually Atari would avoid such commotions, something within told him to check it out. When he got there, he saw a man with golden brown hair holding an older man down; a knife rested on the ground beside them. Standing close by was Elizabeth, who glared daggers at the old man. Atari quickly went to her side and whispered, "Are you alright? What happened?" Concern was clearly evident in his tone of voice as his eyes swept over the scene.
A small crowd of people gathered around, but no one did a thing. The hero of this event looked up with a smile and asked for someone of them to call the security or police. A raven haired beauty rushed forward and called out the man's name, "Matt!" The young man named Matt responded, "Oh! Hey Mao! Sorry we got lost. I saw what was happening and couldn't help bu----" Before he could finish, she punched him in the face. As the weight lifted, the old man tried to escape, but was stopped when the girl stepped on him. She looked at him with a disgusted expression and yelled in a delinquent tone, "Where do you think you're going...? HUH?" Matthew left Mao to deal with him, rubbing his bruised cheek and headed towards Elizabeth. "Are you alright, miss?" he asked in a friendly manner. Mao only looked at them, noticing who Atari was at first glance.

Elizabeth was a little shaken, rubbing her arm feeling it was a little sore, and was likely going to be be bruised. She looked from the man who had saved her to Atari and whispered back to him, "I'm fine... This pervert grabbed me, and then pulled a knife when I didn't want to cooperate with him." She looked down at the mans face wanting to kick him in it. Looking up she said to the new boy, "Um, Thank you so much. I think I'll be fine." She wasn't really sure if that was enough thanks, but she kept it at that seeing he was nursing a punch to his face. She thought he looked familiar but she couldn't place any details on the boy, trying not to worry about it, the surprise of what had happened still bugging her. She looked back at Atari not sure if they just wanted to buy their things and leave, or if he had other plans judging by the way he reacted to seeing the other boy.

Although there were some familiarities with this "Matt" person, Atari ignored it, being overwhelmed with an uncontrollable urge to put some distance between the man and Elizabeth. Swiftly, he stood in between the two, face to face with the hero of the hour. He made it seem as if he was protecting what belongs to him. Matt assumed it as such and stepped backward, smirking at the brown haired boy. The Caucasian male retreated back to his companion and kept apologizing to her. The girl scolded him for getting involved, but nonetheless, saying, "At least no one got hurt." At that comment, the old man underneath her groaned in complaint, which caused her to step on him harshly.
Out of curiosity, Atari observed the two arguing "couple" and ended up locking eyes with the female, who was still standing on the old perverted man. At that moment, something clicked and they acknowledged each other as potential enemies. 'They're the ones that I fought with at the graveyard,' he thought, recalling the time when Elizabeth was resurrecting Masuja. He did not wait for the police to arrive and thanked them for helping Elizabeth, turning to leave. His hand rested lightly on Elizabeth's back to help guide her away. "C'mon. I'll pay for the stuff," he muttered, not looking her in the eyes. His brows were furrowed as they walked to the cash registers.
As they left, a policeman in the area accepted the call and headed into the shop to apprehend the old man. The cop thanked the two others and left shortly after, not wanting to cause anymore traffic in the area. Matt kept a silly grin on his face the whole time as he talked about being the hero of the day. "It sure feels nice to help someone, huh, Mao?" he more-or-less stated as he watched the policeman leave with the criminal. Mao just bonked him on the head and walked off with Matt following after her like a lost puppy.
Feeling terrible for not waiting outside of the changing room for his friend and getting her into such a situation, he remained quiet and somewhat lost in thought. Paying for the bikini did not seem to bother him as much as it did earlier. 'I wonder if we'll have to fight each other again...' The thought seemed to bother him, remembering how the boy had begged him not to destroy the girl's powers. Moving along, Atari and Elizabeth walked out of the store and continued wandering around the district for a while longer before it neared the hour of his next date.
Still in a gloomy mood, he walked Elizabeth back home, not letting her have a say in it after what happened. A bit of his memories from that time came back to haunt him. He stood with her at her house and uttered a soft, "I'll see you later." After saying his farewell, he turned to walk back to the shopping district to meet up with Engel. He open his phone to his texts and sent one to Engel, asking him where he wanted to meet up. With a sigh, he found a small resting area and sat there, waiting for a reply.

Elizabeth walked along with Atari back to her home. She didn’t try to make much small talk, not after what had happened. As they walked up to her house she absentmindedly rubbed at her bruised arm lost in thought. It was finally when she was at her door she realized where they had gotten, and hugged Atari telling him, “thanks for the wonderful day out, but we still need our books so make sure and call me so we can grab them this weekend.” Getting in her apartment before starting her chores she watched from the patio as Atari walked away.
Engel sat in front of a large display cracking his knuckles as he took in the glory that had been his pet project. He was in his secret lab under his classroom, which was constructed for him mostly by soul society, and their wanting more data on how this tournament could further destabilize the lines between life and death. The display was lit up with live feeds of every inch of the city. He glanced through them glad that his team had been able to get them all in place in record time. He was distracted by one display that he followed watching as the camera angles changed. He had caught Atari and Elizabeth walking home together from the store. He got curious and hacked into the store’s inventory seeing what had been bought before they had walked out.
He was a little shocked wondering what could have happened in the two years he was away. Brainstorming, pondering, and questioning all possibilities not sure he wanted the answers. Swept up in time he heard his phone rattling on the desk, looking at it he saw Atari’s text, and held it in his hand not wanting to reply to quickly. He gave it five minutes while he took off his lab coat, and picked up his business coat, he looked at it thinking it probably wasn’t the best thing to get casual drinks in. He searched his emergency stash of clothes finding some things that would do. Before putting them on Engel texted back, “lets meet at the square, we can head out from there.” He sent it not thinking about the content until he reread it to himself. Slapping his forehead thought, ‘who am I doctor Suess?!?’ Grabbing his shirt he buttoned it up leaving the top two buttons undone thinking he wouldn’t mind wearing it to a club.
He ran out of his office trying to get their quickly forgetting, and leaving the lights of his lab on, but making sure to shut off his classroom lights, because he doesn’t want to waste electricity. He slowed his pace down a few blocks from the square wanting to catch his breath and not look like he had been running most of the way. Arriving he looked around for Atari not seeing him wondering where he could be? Resisting the urge to look for him on his tablet connected to his lab.

The boy watched as people passed by. A little girl with a big scrunchie holding her hair in a ponytail pulled her mother along excitedly towards their destination. He mood lightened a bit as he thought, 'They must be going someone fun if she's that excited.' Atari did not observe them any further since his phone vibrated to signal a text. He took out his phone and slid open the screen to read it, which said, "Let's meet at the square. We can head out from there." This caused him to get up from the spot and start walking towards the shopping district square. He had forgotten to send a reply to let the man know that he was on his way.
By the time he got there, Engel was already waiting for him, looking slightly disheveled. He jogged the rest of the way to close the distance between them. Calling out to him, he started saying, "Hey, sorry I'm late. Actually, sorry for not texting you back," while being a bit worried about what the man thought. The boy looked away shyly with one hand in his jean pocket and the other scratching his head. "A-Anyway... since you said you wanted to grab a drink, I was going to suggest this one place I just found..." he said, but trailed off as something else came to mind. 'I definitely don't want to go to the Blue Crescent Bar where Matsu is right now.' He looked up to stare into Engel's eyes and continued where he left off, saying with more enthusiasm, "They serve food there too if you're hungry." Atari's eagerness to please Engel seemed to show as the boy looked at the man hopefully.
