When he got back to Engel, he finally realized what he was about to do. 'I can't tell him that I'm working for the rebels,' he thought, a bit exasperated at the idea of lying to his friend after addressing the issue of trust. Suddenly, Engel's words during their dinner rang through his mind, and his heart tightened. His hand hung over his chest and gripped the clothing tightly. After a brief silence, he decided to explain just a little of his predicament, saying, "I just got a call for an important job, so I'll have to get going. I-I'm not happy that I gotta go, but I have to." Atari paused again, thinking how he wished that the mission was on another night than this. Maybe it would even be better if he told Engel about it, but that was only his opinion. He knew that this information was not his own to share. "I... I can't tell you everything right now, but I will one day. Trust me," said the younger male as he stared into the other's eyes. With that, he turned away after giving a short hug to the older man and started heading towards the newer business district.
The bright street lights and signs flashed around to attract the night customers. Even though the evening was late, there were many people roaming the streets for bars, clubs, or any form of distraction. Atari just walked along, getting hit on by a couple of guys and girls every now-and-then. As he rounded the corner to another large street, he noticed a suspicious looking person carrying a suitcase. This man did not show any signs of looking for entertainment like the other people walking around the streets. Atari started following him and ended up at the entrance of the newly built, yet quite popular, hotel. 'D-Damn... this looks bad,' he thought as he calmly walked in instead of standing at the front doors. Aside from causing suspicion (if he stood at the entrance), Atari would have lost his target if he did not follow the man inside.
Still, a lone young male dressed in casual clothing would cause suspicion if not for a young woman suddenly calling out to him. "Honey! You made it! I know you told me to meet here later, but I got too excited and came here early to wait for you," exclaimed the young woman, who went straight to Atari and clung onto his arm. At once, Atari noticed the quick glance and decided to play along. "S-Sorry. I lost track of time and barely had any to change my clothes. How about we grab a room and order a change of clothes before we go out?" he replied, making conversation while keeping an eye on the man. The two of them obtained a room, keeping up with the charade until they entered their room.
When they reached the room, the woman dropped onto the bed and stretched, saying, "You took your time to get here. A few of the government guys already came. But the one you were following was probably the one who has the intel. They're all meeting on the tenth floor. So, get ready." Atari nodded and took off his long sleeve v-neck, leaving on his t-shirt and putting on his gloves. "Let's get this over with before anyone finds out." The two of them got ready. The woman left to scout the area. Atari turned off his phone. The mission started.
OOC: I wonder if anyone will get in the way or help out?

Engel stared sadly after Atari, still remembering the hug before he had walked off. The light of day had practically vanished when he decided what to do. Pulling his phone out he linked up with his lab and started to trace Atari. It didn't take long for him to track where he had gone, taking a small pill he was forced out of his body as his soul candy took effect. He instructed his doppelganger to stay at the lab, and to keep him updated on Atari's position. Engel jumped off into the night his hand resting on the hilt of his sword as he made his way to catch up with Atari.
When he finally arrived he got there in time to catch a girl hanging on Atari, and the reaction was not what he would expect. Catching on to where he was looking in on them it finally dawned on him they were at a love hotel! Engel couldn't help but feel a stabbing feeling in his chest not sure he wanted to look on. He watched on against his better judgment, knowing if he went into a room with her he would be crushed.

As he waited in the room, Atari put on his earpiece and checked his partner's whereabouts. The girl pretending to be his lover safely scouted the remaining floors and waited on the rooftop for him. Without drawing any attention, the young male made his way to the top. The girl wore a different outfit than before; she donned a black, tight leather suit instead of the formal dress. Beside her was a suitcase full of equipment and miscellaneous gadgets given to her for the mission. "What's the plan?" Atari asked quietly as he walked up to the girl and knelt by her side as she equipped her items. She continued strapping in knives and smoke grenades into her pockets while saying, "We'll bust in through the outer windows of the building and knock them out quickly. Make sure you're not seen by them, or we'll have to kill them." He nodded at her statement and grabbed one of the half gas masks. They hooked the side of the wall and lowered themselves down to the room the government officials were meeting in. With a short countdown, the two of the busted into the room.
The girl released a smoke grenade, which gave the two of them the opportunity to knock out most of the people in the room. As it cleared, Atari nearly missed the impact to his head as his partner called out to him, "LOOK OUT!" The person who attempted to attack Atari from behind fell forward, and Atari took the chance to deliver a sharp blow to the back of their neck, rendering them unconscious. Another man in the black suit and fedora pulled out a gun not too far from them. This was the part that was always the most distasteful. A large bang rang through the air, which definitely caused a slight panic between the other guests on the same floor. People screamed as they headed toward the staircase. Within the room, blood trickled to the floor. Luckily, the bullet only grazed Atari's left arm due to his partner's quick reaction, saving him the trouble of a long recovery. With a calm and collective attitude, he looked around the room, making sure that everyone was out like a light. Once that was done, the two of them looked over the room quickly to find all the documents and destroy them.
They completed their mission, but they still needed to get out of the hotel without being noticed and caught. There were some people that barely got the news and started their late evacuation. Atari and the woman parted ways as they made their escape amongst the crowd of people. The sight was honestly ridiculous, seeing as some of the guests were in really awkward outfits and such. 'So much for keeping it high class,' thought the boy, a bit disgusted. He put away his claws and continued walking until he noticed something familiar amongst the crowd of people. He was certain as he walked closer, squeezing in between the horde of people, that it was a shinigami. 'That outfit...' he wondered, assuming that it was his friend, Engel. Even though there was a chance that it was Engel, he still wanted to see him. If there had been any odd misunderstandings, he was definitely going to clear it right then and there. It would also be a perfect time to escape farther from the scene with a valid reason. As he neared the black robe, Atari reached out and grabbed a hold of it, looking at the face of its owner. "You're..."
OOC: "YOUNG AGAIN!" Haha, I just had to say that, especially when we (erlkings and I) talked about how Engel still looks like his former self with the appearance of a 22 years old man. They're so much closer in age!

Engel had watched from outside the building standing on the rooftop of another, he was about to turn away and leave before he caught out of the corner of his eye two people repelling from the roof. Squinting his eyes he could only barely make out the hair, it looked to him like it could be Atari, and the girl he had met up with. Perhaps he thought it was just wishful thinking, because everybody comes to a love hotel just to swing around the roof like a special agent. The soft ping of shattered glass from the other building broke him from his thought as he watched what had happened. Smoke poured from the window the two had gone into, once there were a few pops of gunfire more sounds could be heard as people started to run from the building. He stepped from the building slowly falling to the base of it.
Once he landed he leaned his back against the building arms crossed over his chest. He was a little surprised at the amount of people that came out annoyed each time someone had run through him trying to get away. Feeling something tug on his robe he looked to his side seeing Atari there with a shocked look upon his face. He didn’t know how to respond just staying silent looking down into his eyes. Hardly ever a victim of emotions he couldn’t figure it out was he feeling, hurt? Glad? Angry? Finally with a stern face he looked right at Atari, “wanting an explanation…” As the lights danced across his face from the emergency response units he turned around pulling his robe from Atari’s grasp, he wanted to be free of onlookers and the like if Atari was going to explain what had just happened.
He stopped at the end of a dark alley resting against the wall the moonlight above falling short of illuminating his face as he looked at Atari with a silence that you would only expect from the dead.
OOC: and so your back! from outer space, I walked in to find that sad look upon your face. (kekeke that song was in my head as I wrote this)

It surprised him to see the Engel that he knew from four years back. Due to that, he did not want to let go of the shinigami's robe, but the man tugged the cloth out of his hands. The shinigami walked off into an alleyway, away from the crowd, and asked for an explanation. After hearing that, Atari cleared his throat. His attention was still a bit distracted by Engel's youthful appearance (as opposed to his 28 years old gigai). Since he did not know how much Engel saw, he responded a bit vaguely as to not blow his cover, "That was... the mission I received. Destroyed some stuff. That's all..." He winced as the fabric of his shirt rubbed against the wound on his left arm. Blood began soaking through to his outer shirt. Automatically, Atari tried to turn his body so his friend would not see the wound on his arm. "B-By the way... you look... just like you used to," he muttered, in a way, trying to change the subject of conversation.

Engel frowned not that Atari could see it, or maybe he could, he had never asked how well his eyes worked in the dark. He wasn’t happy though, “I know I just came back, but I know you… or at least I remember you.” Engel rambled a little not really paying attention thinking perhaps he had jaded his own thinking on how he remembered Atari. Shaking the thoughts from his head he looked at Atari noticing a few drops of something pooling in the moonlight at the boys feet. “What happened?” He knew something big had to have happened after he had left, this Atari wasn’t as innocent as the one he remembered. He had explained his side of things it was time he heard what he had missed.

Being taken aback by Engel's comment, Atari merely stared at the shinigami, not knowing what to say. He could see the frown on his face and understood that feeling of confusion and doubt. He stayed silent until Engel pointed out the blood on the ground. Looking down at it and then towards his arm, he answered saying, "It's nothing serious. The shot only grazed my arm. I'll get it wrapped up at home." Even though he said that, he made no motion to leave, staring at the man in front of him while the blood soaked through his clothes and fell to the ground. He thought about many things before coming to a conclusion that keeping secrets was too difficult, especially when he was trying to rebuild their trust. "I can't tell you anymore than I already have as long as they can see us. If you want to know, come with me... to my place."

Respecting Atari's wanting for privacy he responded, "fine... we'll go to your place and you can explain everything." Not caring to wait he walked up to him glancing at the wound figuring he wouldn't die if it wasn't healed right away. He remembered the healing kidou he had learned could probably patch it up real quick, but Atari deserved a little suffering leaving him in the dark. He knelt down and took Atari's good arm around his neck and said, "hold on." He jumped into the air using shunpo to quickly get them to Atari's home. Arriving within a few minutes he lowered Atari onto his feet landing into Atari's yard. With a light grimace he thought he had perhaps been a bit to cold, but said, "let's patch that up and you can explain everything." Edited by LittleBlackCat: This thread is locked.
