Engel woke early in the morning long before the sun had rose with a night of restless sleep, and random nightmares he couldn't seem to recall after he woke. Crawling into the shower he let the water pound his head while he woke up and took a mental check of what needed to be done. The hot water had mostly been used up by the time he stepped out toweling himself off and wiping the fog off the mirror he looked himself over, not used to the older face of his Gigai. Perhaps it was just him, but even though close he never felt they exactly resembled his spirit form.
He had shook off the thoughts by the time he got out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist preferring to air dry after taking care of his hair. He brewed some coffee standing at his counter running through his lesson plans on his tablet. As he sipped the coffee black he yawned and stretched making his way back to the room to grab his clothes and get ready.
He arrived at the University with plenty of time to spare. Getting everything in order he sat at his desk reading a book on his tablet sipping at coffee as he waited for his class to arrive, glancing at the clock every so often seeing there was still plenty of time seeing as class started in another hour.

"Oi, Atari! Wake up! You're going to be late for your first class!" Matsu yelled at his younger brother, who was still sleeping soundly in bed with only an hour left till class. It was even obvious when Atari ignored his brother by pulling the the covers up over his head when he heard his brother yelling at him. This only pissed Matsu off even more. With a strong grip on the blanket, Matsu ripped the covers off Atari and threw them to the floor. An irritated groan emitted from Atari as he turned around to glare daggers at his brother. "I'll make it with 5 minutes to spare..."
"If that's how you want to play, I'll just have to call cute little Eliza to come and wake you up," threatened the older brother. This certainly got Atari up as he bolted towards the restroom to get ready. Matsu smirked and left the room. As he passed the closed bathroom door, he yelled, "Get ready in 10 minutes! I'll go make you something to eat. Good thing I asked you about your class schedule last night or you would just sleep past it..."
Atari undressed and took a quick cold shower. The young male quickly dressed and went downstairs to the living and dining room area. There on the dinner table was a Western style breakfast of eggs, ham, and toast. The older brother had already started eating and motioned for the younger one to join him. "Took you long enough, Atari," he stated after swallowing his current bite. Atari sat down across from him and grabbed the fork, eating the food slowly. While Matsu drank his coffee, he glanced over at Atari. Putting the cup down, he told him to "eat faster... you'll be late." Atari ignored him again, but this only made Matsu get up and start forcing the food into his mouth. This sort of scene was pretty common in the second Kuro household. They fought with each other, but their bonds were still growing strong.
There was only half an hour left until class started. Matsu sent Atari off with a farewell and a few advice. It only took the boy half of the time to reach OUAD University. Once he arrived, he quickly entered class since he had nothing else to do. At the front was Engel reading something on his tablet. Atari just walked by and did not bother to make his presence known. Grabbing a seat by Elizabeth, he set down his messenger bag and greeted her, "Morning."

With a irritated look she said, "cutting it a little close aren't you? You think you would at least be here early seeing as Engel is teaching the class." She glanced at the clock seeing there was only five minutes until class started. Getting out her notebook and pencil she had herself prepared the rest of the way. Looking down at Engel seeing that he didn't look up as anyone walked into class. She had her own questions for Engel so was pretty anxious for class to get started and to end already.

He shrugged at her comment nonchalantly and proceeded to scan the classroom. There were several interesting characters, but it did not seem as if they would start anything so soon in the semester. They were indeed college students, and the challenges between these participants were lower than those in high school. With a satisfied smirk on his face, he leaned forward against the desk and laid his head down to nap for the remainder of the time before class started. He was already woken up earlier than usual, and he managed to get to class already. In a soft mumble, he said to Elizabeth, "We still have to get through class first..."

She gave him a small glare saying, "nobody would dare start stuff in the middle of class." She didn't totally trust what she had said was true, but at least people had matured. Looking around the class at other people she at least hoped that stayed true for the mature individuals who decided to further their education. The bells chimed breaking her of her train of thought as Engel stood to address the class.
--
Sliding his tablet into his pocket, "Well welcome class I'll be your teacher this semester you can call me Engel, or Mr. Glast I don't care which." Taking a piece of chalk he went to the board and wrote "Mr. Glast." Turning back around with a smile, "now I figure because this wont be the easiest course we will go over the syllabus for my class, and we should have a early out today." Taking a pile of papers from his desk he handed a few piles out so the students could pass them around.
After running through the syllabus he said, "now let me stress that the one thing that wont be tolerated is tardiness, even if it is tournament related. When you are in my class you are here to learn, it's someones money your wasting by not paying attention not mine. Now enjoy the rest of your classes today and tomorrow we will start bright and early." He sat back down at his desk as the students made their leave watching each one to take a mental note of each one. Once everyone was gone he looked at the last two people still remaining, and walked over to lock the door.
With a audible sigh he said, "well I guess I have a bit of explaining as I promised, did you guys have any particular questions before I start?"

Elizabeth shook her head waiting to hear his story glancing at Atari wondering what he would say if anything at all.

When class started, Atari sat up automatically without requiring Elizabeth to wake him. As expected, it was extremely boring to look over the syllabus with the other students.
Luckily, the time passed by quickly, and the rest of the students stood up and left. Engel addressed the two of them after locking the classroom door. Seeing as Elizabeth showed no sign to question him even though she nearly yelled his ears off the day before, he made a move. He stood up and walked towards Engel. A quick punch landed on the older man's face, which forced him backwards. In another quick motion, Atari grabbed Engel and pulled him back. Without staring at the man's face, he muttered under his breath, "I'm pissed that you left us that day... we really thought you died..." His body seemed to be trembling. The young male had held it in for too long. After a while, his head shot up. Red eyes glistening over with tears that threatened to fall glared up at the man in his grasp. "Where did you go?! Why didn't you say anything to us?! To me?! I thought we were friends! After she disappeared... after those kids disappeared too... and then you. Now, you show up again... as our professor too. It's like you abandoned everything we fought for..."
The grip on the man's shirt loosened. Atari could no longer hold on as they slid down to his side. With shoulders slackened, he looked away, but he did not move. He wanted to know the most because he was probably the one who was most hurt.
OOC: Yes, sleepy me made Atari into such a drama queen. But hey! He hasn't matured THAT much.

He wanted to rub his face where he had been hit, but knew he deserved it the pain should stay as a reminder for what he had done. He hadn’t been looking forward to this conversation especially how emotional it would likely be for each of them. Picking where to start the night of the incident he began to speak, “well I’m sure you guys remember the events of that night as much as I do.” The memories flashed through his mind remembering telling them both to find cover as all hell had broken loose, where most contestants were caught in frenzy of challenging everyone they could almost to the point of pushing the city into a riot. Shaking away the thoughts he continued, “after I told you two to take cover I had to eventually leave my Gigai and retreat to Soul Society. I had been overrun by people constantly challenging me, and I’m sure when my Gigai was found it was just treated as your average dead body, just another casualty of the tournament.” “Due to what happened it made a lot of problems for Soul Society people were still being killed and well there were not enough of us here in the city to really handle the aftermath.” He let what he had sink if for a bit before continuing on, “Souls not being laid to rest almost caused a second disaster in itself.” “When I arrived back I was tasked with helping to contain the Hollow threat that was bound to happen if we didn’t mobilize more Shinigami to the area. That alone with all the reports I had been doing took several months.” His took a little pause before continuing again, “the biggest problem between here and Soul Society is time can flow in and out of sync, which what took several months there to contain took a couple years here.” “It is under my duties as a Shinigami that I have become a teacher, and with several others hanging around we are trying to stop any more incidents that might occur, even though our interference is very limited.” Backing up he sat down on his desk. “It took a while just for them to finish a new Gigai for me, and while that was being done I did try my best to watch over you guys. I had actually run into Atari right after getting my Gigai, everything else so far has been prearranged by some colleagues of mine.” He waited then finished wondering what follow up questions would insue.

Although Engel had given such a formal explanation, it did not truly quell Atari's anger. "Find cover... yeah, right. You don't even know what happened!" he screamed out, eyes staring angrily at his colleague. "Tch. While you were off fighting, we tried to run. We tried, but we got surrounded..." With clenched fists, he turned around and walked to his bag. Isolated in a single pocket was a large collection of rings connected by a metal holder, which Atari pulled out to show. "This is what I got for it. Elizabeth and I kept each other alive." The young male dropped it onto the desk beside him and looked down the aisle towards Engel. His face still held a twisted expression of anger. "And we tried to look for you too after it was all over."
At that point, it seemed as if all the anger within him dissipated. There was not much of a need to question the death god of Soul Society, but actually to let the man know that they cared that much for him. His eyelids weighed heavily against his scarlet eyes. Turning away, he grabbed the rings on the table and returned them to his bag. He quickly walked down the aisle and past Engel. Stopping by the door, he stated in a clear manner without turning back, "If you came back to be a teacher just because those death gods asked you to, then I don't know if I can trust you with my life." The doorknob turned, and he left the room silent.
OOC: Atari still has at least two more classes that day, so he'll be hanging around campus. Let's keep this thread going, wooo! There's so much more to do around campus! Food, sports, club rooms, and more to explore! If your character needs to go home, just mention it briefly here and return to school by fast-forwarding to the next day!

Engel watched sadly as Atari had walked out. Not sure if Atari knew the true struggle he had gone through just so those he had to slay couldn't come back to slay him after death. Turning back to look at Elizabeth he could see she was pretty speechless. After a while he had admitted to her he wanted her help in being able to help them. It was too much for her so she told him she would get back to him not sure if his plan was such a good idea. Taking her things she tried to chase after Atari to possibly make him feel better about what he was told, and she must admit so she could take the edge off what Engel had told them.

The conversation probably took about an hour or so before it ended with Atari leaving the classroom. There would still be two more hours until his next class, so he had decided to grab some food to fill some of the emptiness. At the food court on campus, he ordered a full meal consisting of an eight-piece takoyaki dish, a spicy tonkotsu ramen bowl with pouched eggs and extra pork belly, a side of eel, and another side of fried tofu. Many people, including the cashier, looked at this boy with an incredulous expression on their faces. When he settled down on a table by himself, he received more stares as he started eating. Even though he had such an appealing appearance, the amount of food that he ate did not match at all. Not to mention, he did not eat slowly.

Elizabeth was finally abandoning hope of finding Atari when she found him just sitting down to eat. Walking up she looked at the food a little disturbed if she was hungry before she wasn't now. Sitting across from him commenting, "good god did you get every piece of protein they had, ugh my zombies don't even smell that bad." She joked with him knowing for a good fact her zombies didn't seem to have any smell to them other than the dirt they rose from.

Atari drank the rest of the broth and set the bowl down. Although his pride was hurt, he joked back at the necromancer. "If I smell that bad all the time, I won't have to worry about you clinging onto me," he said, popping another fried tofu into his mouth. After all that happened, he managed to crack a smile as he stared at the young female dressed in goth attire. 'Always dressed in the same thing...' he thought, his eyes observing the girl's appearance. At a certain portion, he quickly shifted his eyes away, blushing slightly. The boy tried not to think about it as he picked up one of the few remaining takoyaki and lifted it up to his friend. "Want one? The ones here are pretty good," he asked, wondering if she would take his offer. She had definitely changed since high school, and no longer clung onto him like a lovesick puppy. 'It's almost like our roles reversed...' he thought involuntarily, which caused him to blush more. His eyes could not look at hers directly, even though he was offering the little octopus ball from across the table.
OOC: Will there be a love triangle?! Only you will understand me, erlking. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

Frowning that she would have to decline his generous offer she said, "sorry, but I don't trust food that doesn't walk on at least two legs." She shuddered a little just picturing what it could of been made of. Elizabeth wasn't sure but thought she caught him actually looking at her happy she wore her new dress for the first day of school. Deciding to find out his opinion she asks, "so what do you think of my new dress?" She stood giving him a chance to get a decent look, awaiting his response.

When she declined the takoyaki ball, he resigned from asking her again and ate the remaining food that he had purchased without pause. Training started to really make him hungry all the time. Adding to that, Atari has always had a high metabolism as well, which was why he was so slender. Luckily, the years that he spent training with the rebels have been good to him, and he finally built some muscle on his thin build. 'Ahh... Elizabeth would be mad if she knew how deeply involved I am with them... well, at least she knows I'm involved," he thought, having related food to training to the underground rebels.
While he was finishing the rest of the food, Elizabeth decided to ask him, "What do you think of my new dress?" That made him choke instantly! He looked around him quickly for something to drink, but found nothing, so he went to the next best thing and grabbed the water bottle out of his bag. In large gulps, the water bottle was emptied, and he felt relief. Thinking that Elizabeth found out about him staring at her chest, he blushed deeply and stuttered, "I-It... It looks good on you." What else should he say to not embarrass himself. Atari wiped the droplets of water from his mouth with his fingers and looked at her, still somewhat red in the face. His eyes would dart back and forth between her gaze and the distance. Not only did he noticed how beautiful and form-fitting her outfit was, it really was the first time she wore that dress. "Did you just buy it? I-I haven't seen you wear it before," he asked curiously, hoping that his heart rate would calm down even just a bit.

With a concerned look at his choking she relaxed after he drank the water. Replying to his question she said, "Yup, I actually had it tailor made, I'm loving my wardrobe thanks to my new job." Deciding to tease Atari a bit she said to him, "you know you could always come over and I could do a fashion show for you, and really show you my collection." She smiled not expecting him to ever accept such a proposal.
